But when the German executioner had the task of killing a Jewish child, he couldnt find it in himself to complete the task, which made me view the Germans in a different light. The time period that this book covers is the World War II time period, starting in 1943 and ending when the camps are liberated by the Americans in 1945. Eliezers story focuses on the Holocaust, and the experiences of Jews in the concentration camps. Wiesel seems to focus a little more of his attention on how the concentration camps transformed people so much that they became somewhat selfish enough that they would cast away their family members and good friends, just so they could survive. While reading this book, I learned that not all Jews were killed by the gas chambers or by being shot at the concentration camps. Some of them were chosen to work in labor camps, and there were some extremely lucky Jews, who actually served in the German army. I thought that all of the Jews did their best to stick together, and fight for all of their well-being. Instead, many of them were so dead-set on surviving that they were willing to let loved ones suffer so that they could live to see another day. I would definitely recommend this book to other students as a good way to learn about this time period. People want to feel important, significant and superior; people do not want to feel inferior, subordinate and insignificant. We are afraid that if we concede our fears, others will dismiss us as unimportant. This is even more true for an ambitious young man like Duddy. He springs from humble beginnings, but clearly, he is very eager to become a successful and powerful man. And what if his father tells him that his mother did not like him? He cannot take the risk of losing his image, only to find out that his mother had not liked him. He cannot let his fears be exposed either. Other than hiding his fears, Duddy also keeps his image by crazily pursuing money. He does this because he does not want his family, friends and all the people around him to despise him. He tries desperately to be "somebody". But the truth is that Duddy is only following one of the human drives. We try to cover all our weaknesses, all our faults and all our fears, because we want to impress others and we want them to think us great. I always followed  up Teach Your Child to Read with the Abeka 1st grade phonics book, Letters and Sounds 1, to ensure that my children retained what they learned. I had them reading in easy readers as soon as they were able. I found it best to have them read books that were a little easy for them so they would enjoy reading. Math: MCP Mathematics K  by Modern Curriculum Press I liked this book because it was cute and efficient. I didnt stay with Modern Curriculum Press, but for Kindergarten, this was my favorite book. I always added whatever hands-on items were necessary to help my children grasp a concept or just to make the lessons more fun. Fine Arts: Art Projects K by Abeka Books I liked this book because most everything is right there for the teaching parent. There is no photocopying to do and the projects are appealing and colorful. Science and history were covered using library books and other resources I had around the house. Gardening and cooking are great science and math projects for young ones. There are many other programs and curriculum options  out there. This is just an example of what I found that I liked and worked for me. C) CBP 2) A) Lawn Cares competitor’s current strategic mission is to provide a bundle package. Their competitive advantage is that they also install the product. They save the customer time, and create convenience for the customer because they do not have to find and contact and plan with a third party to have the work done. B) The competitor perceives the need for seed, fertilizer, and sod as the order qualifier, and the installation and additional yard work they provide as the order winner because it sets them apart from their competition, Lawn Care. 3) If Lawn Care were to add the application business to their existing business they would need to secure more employees.
